For my first article, I want to highlight five remarkable Ukrainian startups that have emerged since the war began. Yes, Ukrainians continue to make a global impact—even in wartime.

Why These Startups?

While Grammarly, Preply, Ajax, GitLab, and MacPaw are widely known Ukrainian tech giants, I’m focusing only on startups founded after 2022. Otherwise, this article would never end!

According to Civitta’s 2024 ecosystem report, Ukraine’s startup scene is among the three fastest-growing in Central and Eastern Europe, ranking 4th in ecosystem value. While I can’t cover every innovative startup, I’ve selected some of the most promising based on their impact, funding, and global reach.

1. Portal AI

Founded: 2023

Latest round: $5M pre-seed (June 2024)

What they do:

Portal AI develops customized AI applications for small and medium-sized businesses. Their AI-powered agents assist in marketing, finance, logistics, and operations, integrating seamlessly with platforms like Shopify, Amazon, and QuickBooks.

2. Kurs Orbital

Founded: 2022

Latest round: €3.7M seed (March 2024)

What they do:

A spacetech startup developing in-orbit servicing solutions. Their ARCap module enables efficient satellite docking, servicing, and space debris removal.

What they do:

Mindly is an online mental health platform connecting users with licensed therapists. Founded by Dima Podoliev and Maria Smerechuk, it streamlines therapy appointments, growing revenue from $100K to nearly $10M in just two years.

What they do:
